Project Details

Havenly Treats works with refugee women from Middle Eastern and North African backgrounds to help combat hunger throughout New Haven. The program trains and employs refugee women to prepare free meals for vulnerable members of the community, targeting populations that have developed a mistrust of the existing food system. The organization can deliver meals to a recipient's door or drop them off for pickup at a neutral location like a church or other house of worship.

This grant is made pursuant to 4-CT’s commitment to funding projects that address systemic injustices and promote greater racial equality.
