This project provides the critical flexible funds needed to divert individuals from homeless shelters during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prevention of COVID-19 spread in homeless shelters is critical to public health in CT, and the “new normal” requires maintaining shelter capacity at 50% of pre-COVID levels per CDC guidance. Through this grant, the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness will disburse funds on a case by case to help individuals who have exhausted all other options and would otherwise stand to lose their housing. The funds are paid directly to vendors (landlords, etc.).
