The Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) works to develop cost-effective and high-quality programs and services to meet the educational needs of children and adults in Greater Hartford. During the COVID-19 crisis, CREC created childcare centers for the children of first responders, who did not have the option to stay home. These funds helped CREC to open centers that hosted between 26-30 children under twelve years old.
